I have friends and family that often yell and scream for resolutions and “New Year” events and actions. I normally laugh and continue doing whatever it is that I probably should stop doing but refuse to be kept on societies schedule of when I should stop doing shitty things. But 2011 might be different. I feel like I should actually work to make it a different year from all others before it. Personally and professionally. I will argue that this New Year “feels” different. It feels like there is purpose about it. When I type the numbers “2011″ I feel like it’s a clear point in my life that should be nothing but forward movement and growth.
Weird, right? It’s like I’m an adult or something…
I type all of this to acknowledge the feeling. Acknowledge the change. Acknowledge that in words their is intent and with these the intent is to create a space that will allow maximum potential to be reached. For a moment I’m putting my snark and sarcasm aside to say “I will fulfill what I expect of me.” Its not something that happens often (my snark being put away–because, really? My snark is awesome) but today is a new day…and tomorrow I will be snarktastic again. #Realtalk
