Occasionally I look at the material I talk about on stage and I feel that I’m not real enough. I believe comedy should be used to express thoughts about society and life. And occasionally I look at what I talk about and say ‘This is Bullshit!’

So today I decided to do something about it. I turned to CNN and was going to watch whats happening in the world. See whats effecting humanity and then express that via my art i.e mother jokes.

I’ve been watching for the past 45 minutes and about 32 minutes of it has been about Anna Nicole Smith. I immediately felt bad because all the comics who who I thought were being hacky with their lack of Baby daddy, dead body, wacky judge jokes were just talking about what the world seems to feel is amazingly important.

Kudos C minus comics of the world. You are in fact keeping it real.
