UPDATE - So you have a Lie Bump eh? You’ve heard about it from friends and/or family and want to know 1) if its a real think and 2) how to get rid of it.

I can help. At least a little bit.

When I started this blog I would’ve never guessed that the biggest draw to my blog is the term “Lie Bump“. My mom used to call it that and I believed it was caused by lying up until i was like 14.

I was a little slow.

If you’re a kid that has been told this lie, rest assured, you don’t receive this via lying. It’s just a neat little trick parents use to screw with kids heads. If your an adult who believes you get this by lying…er….I really hope you don’t have kids.

I blogged about my problem almost 2 years ago (thats why the date is for May ‘05) but it seems to still be garnering searches about this problem. To make your life a little easier I have put all relevent information about the lie bump in bold. I hope it helps.

P.S. Check out the blog since your here any way. Yes it has typos and terrible grammatical errors at times, but its amusing. And I have moments when I use spell check, which makes things oh so better.

Okay. I haven’t checked the statistics for my sites in a while, because, well the pyschosis died down a bit. But in doing so just now i found that in the past 4 days, the thing that has brought people to this sight the most is the search term…

LIE BUMP

I had a lie bump (a little white bump on your tougue thats annoying as hell) and I blogged about it cause, well, its what I do. Now its indexed in google and my site comes up for people searching for said term. I feel now OBLIGATED to post info about this thing so that people will not come her for naught.

Ahem…

I’ve searched the internet quite a bit and the only thing I’ve found is that it sounds like a canker sore. It goes away on its own, and theres a really nasty mix of milk of magnesia and benadryll that you can take to soothe your tongue if its that bad. Its never been that bad for me so I just leave it be. Canker sores are more likely to happen in your teens and your 20’s. They aren’t dangerous, and they aren’t some sign of some disease.

That was my public service for this week. Now I can get back to my mania.
