I am a Stand-Up Comic.



I am Funny. Or I pray that I am, otherwise I’m really, really stupid.



I started comedy a while back. It seemed so simple. The idea of making people laugh. You just get up, tell a few amusing anecdotes and have everyone marvel at your incredible wit and biting sarcasm. A good time would be had by all and then TA-DA. You’re a famous comic doing 10,000 seat arenas.



God I’m an asshole.

I can’t even tell you what I think about that theory now. The Blog police would came and beat me an inch of my life for cursing for 14 paragraphs.



Okay, not 14 paragraphs. 16 paragraphs.



I just want to get on stage and make people laugh. And that is exactly what’s NOT happening. I was okay for a while. I had been performing in the city, done the “Bringer shows* and I did well. I was funny. Or so the crowd would have me believe. But nothing really came out of it. So I became sick of Bringer shows I decided that I was going to enact a PLAN. I would make my OWN stage time. I would create a show were it was about talent. Its about the comics doing what they love and the audience loving what they do. THIS WOULD BE THE BEST SHOW EVER…



And I would be able to be on it anytime I wanted.



So brilliant old me goes and starts a show. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.



So now I run a comedy production company, that for the most part is doing well. We’ve just done our first show for 3 week and its been successful. Yay for me. But I almost never get on stage. I’m always worried about the show too much to perform at my own fricken show. It’s freakin me out.



My fellow comedian and Brooklyn Bud Rob Paravonian says its that I’m not getting the love from the crowd. Because as a comic that’s what we’re looking for. Its not about a successful show or a professionally run outfit, its about us and how the crowd interacts with us. And by intertact I mean thinks we’re the best thing since sliced bread.

I just want everything to work out. I can’t worry about my own set now a days because I want the show to be good. Forget me. Which is probably why my brain is imploding.
